November 25th, 2011: Mackenzie's Scary Summer Day
Nikki White was sitting on her lawn chair, tanning when her friend Mackenzie Jules asked her to come over to the pool. "Sure thing!" Nikki replied with a smile. The girls walked with their wet sloshy flip-flops down to the pool. Nikki had never actualy swam before, but she's been in pools. "Mackenzie can we just stay down here at the shallow end for a bit? I've never actually swam before." said Nikki, walking into the shallow end of the pool. "Yeah I guess, but it'll be kind of boring... oh well." said Mackenzie, jumping into the shallow end. Mackenzie was showing Nikki how to do cool tricks at the shallow end of the pool, like handstands and front-flips, but when she showed Nikki the handstand, she landed on her head, ending up with a bruised, bloody head. "Mackenzie, Mackenzie!" Nikki cried with fear. "I'll get someone to help you, I promise!" The girls did a pinky swear and Nikki went to find a lifeguard. She luckily found one that was all ready to save someone. "Excuse me, my friend over there, Mackenzie, she hit her head on the bottom of the pool and she's hurt could you please help her?" said Nikki, almost crying. The lifeguard jumped straight into the pool and swam over to Mackenzie and gave her a hug. "Mackenzie right?" she asked. Mackenzie muttered a small yes. She had tears down her face. "I heard what happened." said the nice lifeguard. I will get you to safety. The lifeguard helped Mackenzie out of the pool and grabbed a towel for her. "Do you live around here, close?" asked the lifeguard. "Yes I live on Red Street a block down." said Mackenzie, crying. "Do you know how to get home?" asked the lifeguard. "Yes." said Mackenzie. "Okay, I can take you home and tell your parents what happened." said the lifeguard, grabbing Mackenzie's hand. Nikki, Mackenzie and the lifeguard made it to Mackenzie's house and her parents knew what happened. Mackenzie stayed home from school for a month seeing it took a while for it to heal. After Mackenzie was all better, Nikki thought of herself as a hero.
